With winter coming, InnoVista Sensors™ chose to focus on Solidarity actions as second 2016 milestone (after its Environment Days in June). Employees based in Concord, USA¸ supported the Monument Crisis Center. The local organization helps homeless people with food and supplies but also supports seniors by providing them free training and classes (computer, English as a Second Language, healthy cooking). Its mission is to provide resources for families suffering any type of crisis such as a lost home due to fire as well as abuse situations. To make the event fun, employees based in Concord launched a competition between departments. They split the company into 4 teams with the target of building as many boxes as they could, while respecting the game’s rules and Monument Crisis Center’s guidelines.
Sandra Scherer, Executive Director for the Monument Crisis Center, gratefully acknowledged everyone’s contribution: “Your recent donation of 109 Holiday Food Boxes (…) was just extraordinary! Your wonderful generosity has helped to give so many of the families and individuals, in crisis situations, that we serve here at the Center, a warm feeling of comfort, joy and hope during this Holiday Season, and into the New Year. (…) Working together with our dedicated Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and generous donors like you we are Creating Community: with positive impact and dynamic change.”When the day came for counting, employees discovered that an amazing score of 109 Holiday Food Boxes had been reached and many were creatively decorated. All these boxes were delivered in a decorated flat-bed truck to Monument Crisis Center where they were verified and weighed totaling 3,062 pounds! With 1$ matched for each pound weighed, adding in the total amount of gift cards, cash donations by employees and contents of the barrels, the total in weight and cash was close to 6,000. InnoVista Sensors™ matched that result and delivered a cheque to the Monument Crisis Center for the amount of $6,000 USD. What employees achieved for the Monument Crisis Center action showed their high capacity to commit themselves to worthy causes. Congratulations to everyone! Season’s greetings to all InnoVista Sensors’ employees, families and friends. For more information onhow to help the Monument Crisis Center, http://www.monumentcrisiscenter.org/
