InnoVista Sensors employees based on Concord, CA, USA, used their talents of handymen and women to help the nonprofit organization, Habitat for Humanity, to build playhouses for children.
Habitat for Humanity started the Playhouse Program to donate to community charities that serve children, or directly to families, through various service agencies. Their largest recipient organization is Blue Star Moms, a membership organization of mothers whose sons and daughters are serving or have served honorably in the United States’ Armed Forces. Their mission is to serve military personnel and Veterans’ organizations through service.
As volunteers witnessed:
“It was an enjoyable opportunity to do something useful for the less fortunate, and the child receiving the Playhouse certainly seemed to appreciate it.” – Ted Aston
“This was my first time participating in a project like this. Habitat had everything organized for the build and their instructions/directions were clear enough that those who didn’t know how to use the tools were able to build right along with everyone else. It was great seeing the family receive the playhouse.” – Judy Hagglof.
Congrats to all participants who helped building those wonderful playhouses and made the children’s eyes shine. No doubt children will feel fully at home.
